How many attempts can one have for the US CMA exams is a very common question that our students ask. Candidates who do not succeed in their initial attempt at the US CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam can retake it after a minimum waiting period of 30 days and also, they are permitted up to three attempts per part within a 12-month period. IMA stipulates that both exam parts must be completed within three years from passing the first part. If a candidate fails three times within a year, they must wait a year before attempting the exam again. If they do not pass both parts within the three-year period, they must retake the parts they haven’t passed, following the attempt limits. Globalfti normally advises students to attempt 1 part every 6 to 12 months so that there is not much pressure on them.
